I Think I Can

When people first hear that I have run a marathon they often respond by telling me that they “could never do that.” This is usually followed by a list of reasons why they can’t run, including numerous health issues, previous injuries, medical concerns, or simply a lack of time.

As Henry Ford said, “Whether you think you can, or think you can’t, you are right.”

I happen to really enjoy running, but I don’t assume everyone else shares my passion for marathons.

Each of my marathons takes months of training and includes running between 300 to 400 miles, often waking up early to train or run, and sacrificing time that could be spent doing something else.

Running is my jam, but maybe it isn’t yours. If you choose not to run a marathon or any other distance, you don’t owe me any explanation. If you are not currently training for a Marathon I wouldn’t expect you to run one anyhow.
